We already have decided on a few new races for our new continent and depending on their phesability more may or may not be added. I propose that once we get these races established, we make a list of all available races. Any race or Character that wants to diverge from these must propose this race to the Keiru with good reason for wanting a new race, a viable reason that the race was not known before and come up with limitations that would keep the race from being more powerful than all the others.

What do you all think?

Humans, which will be devided into 4 or 5 different ethnicities of humans. I know the Lantrell, the Sevi (which also live in Nyren), the Corendell (which also live in Ivendar), and the Ralien are seperate ethnicities. The Velintar may possibly be, or if not, they'll resemble the Corendell.

The Tenelwain, the grey elves, banished from their homeland so long ago.

The as of yet unnamed Halflings of Ralien.

The Halflings shall be named the Quygan. This will be pronounced with the Quy sounding like guy and gan in pretty self explanitory. plural form is Quygans. Pretty simple. I'll start work on them asap.

If one particular ethniticity is prodominent in one country, say the Sevi in Nyren, then would the person working on that country be able to define the physical characteristics of that ethniticity?

I agree with Opal. Right now I'm kind of still having issues with the fact that we have a Nymph running around. I know that's what she wants... but they do not exist in RA. She should be a magically alterd elf or something... not a new race entirely. I mean... in her post she makes like there ia a whole VILLAGE of them.

I know I sound like a child... but this is really bothering me.

We have established races as it is...

I do not believe that new PC's should be able to create new races. They have to prove that they can be trusted to write well with the ones we already have. Special exceptions to the rules should be greated as rewards... not to just every writter who signs on.

What do the rest of you think?

Hmmm... I'm a little torn on this issue. I mean, yes Nymphs were not made into a race, but they weren't really brought up and specifically banned either (unless I missed something somewhere) If I recall correctly (questionable) it's my impression that Nymphs are more spirit than flesh, and if that's the case I believe they should not be made into an active race.

Very true. I mean it's going to make the Keiru look like assholes if we step in and say "You can't do that." after someone starts their story.

I think we need to set some concrete boundaries pertaining to the races so we can avoid stuff like this.

Sorry, guys, I did approve it. I told her that there were probably nymphs already in Aeterna. If you guys want to override it, go ahead, I'm not terribly partial to the idea. But this does bring up an interesting question.

I no longer wish to have this site as a dual monarchy. I think that we should vote on stuff, otherwise, someone asks me for something and I say yeah, go ahead, and none of the other Keiru agree on me. So from now on, we'll have polls for this kind of thing, okay? We'll establish a waiting period of a week for any kind of major request. How does that sound?

Sounds fair enough, but then if we wait a week the subject of the poll ( like the nymph for instance ) would have to wait as well. I don't think that wouldn't be very fair to them. That's assuming if they wait at all.

We'll have to base it on the subject upon which we're voting. I do not think that everything is going to need a vote... just the odd stuff or the world altering stuff.

That sounds absolutely fine with me. I agree that we all should have a bit of say in how our wonderful world isrun...

And also my earlier post might have been a little misleading now that I read it. The way i have it earlier it sounds like Quy sounds like guy, but it would actually be Kuy( i'm not sure of any other way to put that so you can understand.) SO its NOT Guy-gan...it is Kuy-gan. I hope this makes a bit more sence. Thanks

Now that I read that again I have decided the Qu is too misleading and people will think of Qui-gon jin....so. The halflings shall be known as the Qyginns. Hope that eliminates any more rpoblems.

I'd say, what's done is done. From the beginning, I've never advocated changing something after its been written, so I think that this writer should not be required to make any alterations.

Additionally, I don't think it really matters. Can anyone honestly tell me that the presence of the nymphs on RA has interfered with their characters' stories?

And, just a word of wisdom about voting:

Sometimes, too many spices spoil the broth, and such can sometimes be said about opinions.

And, if it really still bother's someone, just remember, the fault is ours alone. More careful and timely moderation would have quelled this dispute long before it became what it is.

Lol Scarlet, I usually end up being the most liberal Keiru when it comes to things like this, but, this time, I say, "Strike thy cat down with Samuel Jackson-esque vengance!"

I'm not being hypocritical...but., IMHO, there's something very unappealing about cat-people unless they're lycanthropes.
