The Cities of Gran Adageros and Asheri

The Nation of Gania

Xellos

Xellos, sandwiched between the Mountains of the Jade Ridge and the Drolstorm, is famous for the high quality iron ore that is produced in mining villages outside of the city. The city itself is a center for the refining and production of iron and steel. The city has a population of nearly 10,000, and its weapon and armor smiths are regarded as perhaps the best in the world. Many people make their living in this city as merchants (selling food and buying weapons) and as apprentice smiths to the numerous masters who run the great foundries of the city. Xellos and the surrounding area are considered one of the most economically strong areas of Gania.
Gania

Gania is the capital of the nation of Gania. The King and Queen of Gania reside here, but most of the politics are dealt with by a council of elected members. Situated near the center of the great plains of Gania, the city serves as a trading stop between the ports of Southdale and Corner and the City of Xellos. Also, the City of Gania and the surrounding countryside provide much of the food that feeds Xellos. Gania, populated by almost 25,000, produces more food than it and Xellos needs, and the excess is traded to the south, and sometimes even to Akaros. The capital is a beautiful city, and has many gilded towers and grand palaces constructed by Silverblades aided by Dedicated of Earth.
Forestre

Forestre is the largest single producer of lumber in Gania. Its closeness to the Evisis woods insures that fact for years to come. The lumber is shipped north to Xellos and Gania for building supplies and weaponcrafts, as well as to the south for shipbuilding and other crafts. The population of the city shifts from 4,000 to nearly 8,000 with the season, and with the lumber harvests. The city is noted for its woodwork and cabinetry, as well as other woodcrafts. Although not considered necessary to Gania's economy, it provides material for homes, weapons, and an integral stop between Xellos and the south. Most of the residential and local mercantile buildings are held in the lofty boughs of the ancient cedars, connected by spindly but strong wooden bridges. Oddly enough, the elves in the forest have no objection to the massive amounts of lumber being taken, since they innately have the ability to regenerate trees faster than they can be harvested.
Southdale

Southdale is a trading community, inhabited by many rich merchants and those that help them maintain their fortunes. The ships that sail, on regular schedules, from the ports of Southdale send Xellian weapons and armor, as well as Forestran woodcrafts and Ganian foodstuffs to Akaros. Other than a playing a part in a major trading city, Southdale's 6,000 inhabitants are renown as men and women of refined tastes, and some of the best beer and wines of the world are brewed in and about the area of Southdale.
Corner

Corner, located in the tropical regions and near sandy white beaches, is a city of the rich, the tropical and the rowdy. Rich citizens live on the cliffs overlooking the Burning Crescent Islands, and the lower classes live beside the docks that shuttle people to Akaros on regular schedules. The temperature of Corner almost never drops below 40 degrees, and is normally near 75 or higher. The town is regarded as the most high-class city and the most slum-like town in Gania. In the rich portions of the city, parties are thrown every night, and in the slums, taverns and inns are open round the clock.

The Nation of Akaros

Akaros

Akaros is the capital of Akaros. The city has a refined air about it, and its architecture is much akin to Italian renaissance architecture. Because it is built over Lake Akar, there are few streets in Akaros. The 20,000 people of the city traverse it by canals running through the city. The city itself was created long ago by a community of Silverblades and Earth and Water Dedicated that wanted to form a harmony between the two elements. Even years later, the beauty of their creation persists.
Sungan

Sungan is a city built on two principals. Trade and art. Being the principal large port of Akaros, Trade to and from Gania flows through Sungan like a river. The odd thing about the city is the large amount of the population of 7,000 that produces or collests art. A common saying in Gran Adageros when people gape at something is "Like art to a Sungan". On the other hand, Sungan is almost the most important economic city of Akaros, exporting fine ivories, silks and furs, and receiving lumber goods, weapons and foodstuffs.
Noit

Noit is sometimes known as the City of the Mist. A continuous fog hangs over the whole island of Noit, concealing visibility to less than 50 yards during the day and less than 10 at night. The city is notorious for a stepping off point for those wanting to become Dedicated, as the ruins near the city are the only ones known to allow the test for Dedication. The population is never constant, but seems to fluctuate around 4,000. Any gear an adventurer would need is readily available, from silk ropes from Ciwa, to Xellian weaponry. The city is also known well for the Silverblade's Academy of the Art of the Blade. A school where any man or woman may train in any sort of weapon, so long as they are persistent and adherent to the academy's precepts and laws.
Ioty

Ioty is known for three things. Lumber and lumber products, Whaling and the ivory scrimshaws produced from whalebone, and a strange gemstone mine that produces rare starstone gems, half a days journey to the south of the city. The 6,000 citizens of Ioty live in a city built on the principal of hard work and good pay. There are nearly no poor in the city, and there are also few rich. The middle class rules this city, from wall to wall. The few rich are proprietors of the companies that harvest the gems, lumber or whales, and the poor are the few unemployed, seeking a new job.
Ciwa

Ciwa is sometimes known as the City of the Sands. Most of the glass of Akaros is made here, and all of the silk in Gran Adageros comes from this region. As such, this city is much the opposite of Ioty. The city is ruled by a small number of rich, and inhabited by the poor workers under them. The work that comes from this region, thus, is sometimes flawed, because of the low wages paid to the common worker. However, because such products are not available anywhere else, or in the case of glass, only from the beaches to the south, much of the shoddy craftsmanship is tolerated.

The Nation of Nylinus

Nyliam Proper

Nyliam is the capital city that bears the name of the largest nation within Nylinus. It is cradled within the Spine of Nyliam Mountains and protected by rivers flowing from the Nyliam Shield lakes that converge 3 miles outside of Nyliam proper. Nyliam is protected naturally like a fortress. The city houses nearly 150,000 people, and the architecture resembles Roman style closely. Many marketplaces and forums within the city attest to this fact. Nyliam Proper's chief exports include quarried stone, steel, weapons and armor. It chiefly imports foodstuffs to supply its large population.
Hillslay

Hillslay's 40,000 citizens sit comfortably within a valley created by the Spine of Nyliam Mountains. The city is responsible for much of the food sent to Nyliam Proper, as well as producing ores and rock from the mountains. The position of the city on the edge of both plain and mountain allows it to thrive and support other sities. As such, it is a quite rich city, home to the richest families in Nyliam.
Karakai

Karakai is travel artery between Nyliam and Lunis. As such, much of the city's business and economic prosperity relies on trade. The 15,000 residents of Karakai make their livings off of providing for travelers and adventurers, as well as by glassblowing, weaponcrafts, silk-weaving, and the creation of highly sought after crystal. Karakain weapons are known more for their flair than their battle quality, but most of all for their artistic designs. Karakai's chief imports include metals used for glassblowing and crystal creation, and gemstones, for the decoration of glassware, weapons, and crystalware.
Militus

Militus is a community based on one thing; the Military. More than half of Nyliam's standing army resides here, comprising the majority of the 40,000 citizens within the city's walls. The stockpiles of weapons and armor here also allow for the military to swell in times of need. The city is home to two exclusive schools, the Nylian Academy of the Martial Arts, and the School of Battle Magic, founded shortly after the creation of the temple atop Mt. Karavon.
Filiam

Filiam is a small city with a population of just over 5,000. It serves as a resting and replenishing point between Militus and Pontifar, as well as serving as a lumber producing and crafting city. It is also home to Nyliam's largest cathedral to the Creator, built here because of its close proximity to the Sacred Grove.
Pontifar

Pontifar is one of the main points in Nyliam that is closely related to oversea trade. Fishing, whaling and trade from Gran Adageros are some of its main resources. The 15,000 citizens of the city are perhaps some of the most xenophobic in all of Asheri, and they have a seperate ward within the city set up for visitors and non-citizens.
Farlarn

Farlarn and Dargent make up the Twin cities of Asheri. The two survive with each other's help and flourish because of it. Farlarn transports much of Nyliam's food back towards the capital, and sends back goods and trade from Lunis as well. The 30,000 people living in Farlarn enjoy a good life, and most of them are in what could be called an upper middle class.
Balanum

Balanum proper houses nearly 130,000 people. Balanum is the technological center of Aeterna, producing gunpowder, guns, airships, advanced sea-craft, and many other things that make life easier for all people of Aeterna. Balanum is a large city filled with many people that all look the same. Inventors of all types, carrying large bags and new inventions, hurrying form this place to that. Balanum is a slightly lower-middle class city, if just for the fact that many of her people spend their money on their technological persuits.
Fayre

Fayre, the capitol of Lunis, is home to almost 70,000 people. These people were once the most dedicated to the study of magic in all of the world. However, after the great war, Fayre has been reduced to an almost relic state. Most people wanting to study magic firsthand attend the School of the Dedicated in Nevyel. However, the political lifeblood of Nylinus is here in Fayre. This is where the whole continent of Asheri is ruled from, by the Nylinus High Council.
New Dargent

New Dargent is built about a great park now known as "Leviathan's Grove" These are the ruins of Dargent from before the war. Dargent's main industries are fishing, imports and education. Three great Universities are located in New Dargent, The University of Dargent, The College of Magical Studies, and the Academy of Asheri. New Dargent is also home to the most elegant palace in Lunis, known as Dargent Keep, one of the few parts of the Old Dargent to have survived the war.
Callendar

Callendar is one of the few cities with almost no lower class. The small population of 5,000 is nearly all ex-nobles or rich merchants and their servants. This is perhaps one of the few places in Lunis that has next to no interest in magic. It is much similar to Corner in the respect that parties are often thrown long into the night, every night.
Helilal

Helilal is famous for the production of Lunari steel, a strange blend of iron and mithril, similar to Elven steel, but not the same. It is more flexible than regular steel, but just as strong. Most Lunari weapons are made here, and shipped all over Aeterna. Magic was used in the days before the war to craft these weapons, but since the war, the 20,000 people living here have had to make changes to their weaponmaking skills to keep legal with the laws. But... for a price some people are willing to break the law.
Teyr

Teyr was once a diplomatic outpost for contact with Farai and Balanum. Now it serves as a trading city for the exchange of Lunari goods on their way into Farai and Balanum. The 10,000 people living within it's walls are possessed of an almost elven-like curiosity that makes the population less than constant, as many of these people are struck with wonderlust and leave on adventuires.
Nevyel

Nevyel is home to the largest Academy for training of newly Dedicated, the School of the Dedicated. Nearly half of the cities 10,000 people are learning about the new form of magic, either before or after their own dedication. The city also is the base for the guild of Dedicated known as the Magi, a small group of people specializing in tracking down and destroying illegal Savils and Savillions.
Kenoblious

Kenoblious is home to the largest gemstone mine in Asheri. It exports many of these gems north to Helilal and many of them west to Nyliam. The 12,000 citizens of this city make their livings off of the gemstones, and a large number of pit mines outside the city that bring silver, gold and iron ores out of the ground.
Synarin

Synarin is a city that revolves around artistic expression. It was founded by several bands of Gypsies that had lost their lust for wandering the countryside. The city exports textiles and artistic works all over Asheri, and makes a hefty profit from the exquisite works. The 4,000 people in the city are always celebrating their pagan holidays, and seem to never mind when those that pay respect to the Creator join in. This makes Synerin one of the most visited cties by those wishing to get away from their normal lives.
Ferain

Ferain is perhaps one of the best examples of the nomadic lifestyle of the Farai. The city sometimes swells to 40,000 people, and sometimes is less then 10,000. The city is sometimes known as the city of lights, because of the candles that are lit all over the city streets every night by roving bands of nomadic people.
Parvini

Parvini is a city that is based on transport of materials to Balanum from Lunis, and vice versa. Many new inventions pass through the city, as well as Lunari metals and gemstones. The 15,000 people of the city make their living off of the trade by running transport companies, inns, restaurants, and the like.
Endroth

Endroth is a large mining city, comprable to Xellos in Gran Adageros, but larger. Metal is mined, smelted and crafted her into exotic weaponry that is used mostly in Farai, but is increasingly being shipped into Gran Adageros. The 30,000 people that live here and work in the mills and smithies make a good living, and most of them are in the middle class.
Rysend

Rysend is a city that is based on normal everyday crafts. Many things from wagons to basketry to clothing are made by the 50,000 people in the city, and the quality works are sold at good prices, amking this city one of the most important to travelers and merchants looking to get good, quality deals.
